COAST PEOPLE LOVE
COAST PEOPLE IS A LOOSE, LIGHT AND COLOURFUL DEFINITION,
JUST LIKE WHAT IT DESCRIBES: HOLIDAYS.

It’s time to talk about holidays again, time to play and to see things from a different point of view - as we do when we are on vacation. So coast people is not something you can belong to, that includes or excludes anyone, it refers to that slice of space and time when we are on holidays, different from our usual selves, doing different things, in a different mood, and with more time.

Coast.Style brings together information, opportunities and ways to experience the Costa Smeralda for people who have free time to spend in Sardinia. A sort of “Coast List”, like Michela Proietti wrote in the Corriere della Sera newspaper on 13th May "to experience summertime in Sardinia in a different way.” It’s true: the way we see it, nature, food, physical activity, going out at night, meeting new people and seeing new places, spotting whales and mouflons are not ends unto themselves, but rather points of contact, links, portals and sources of renewable energy and ideas that we can (better) take advantage of when we are on holidays.

Freedom - “A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in.”

BAJA SARDINIA, COSTA SMERALDA'S
NUMBER ONE NIGHT SPOT

Once upon a time there was a charming place called Cala Battistoni, who took its name from one of its larger, more peaceful inhabitants who went by the name of Battista. In 1962, Domenico Gentili, owner of the company that made the famous Sole soap, walked through the gates of this remote agricultural holding which, at the time, could only be reached by dirt road.

The company has come a long way since the early days when its planes touched down on a simple airstrip grazed bare by local sheep. COAST MAGAZINE'S UNVEILED HISTORY

The first astronauts found it very pleasant. Gravity on the planet seemed normal. The atmosphere, though breathable, did, however, contain some subtle gases that had a strange effect: they infused the visitors with a sense of incredible bliss and the very precise, euphoric feeling of being in exactly the right place at the exactly the right time.

MEGLIO UN
SUPER YACHT

Megayachts and helicopters are a marriage made in heaven. However, the main characteristic of any yacht is not its accessory quota but its size. Around 300 megayachts sail into Costa Smeralda each summer and three quarters of these are chartered.

AND THE COAST'S FIRST SETTLERS

Summer 1961. One day we drove along the "road" towards a bay known as Liscia di Vacca. At a certain point we emerged at the top of a rise and a landscape opened before us, a calm, beautiful bay nestled into the gentle roll of the land which went down to meet it.
